Pilates, when it's done well, is the slowest sport in the room. The reformer is a machine that rewards patience — small adjustments, careful breath, an honest look at where the body actually is today. 皮拉提斯做得對,是房間裡最慢的運動。Reformer 獎勵耐心 — 細微的調整、誠實的呼吸、認真看看身體今天的位置。
We teach one person at a time because that's the only way to teach this honestly. There is no “keep up” in our studio — only the body in front of us, and the next breath. 我們一次只教一個人,因為這是唯一誠實的教法。這裡沒有「跟上」這件事 — 只有眼前的身體,與下一口呼吸。

Align Studio began with a question: why does most reformer Pilates feel like a fitness class on machines? Six bodies, one teacher, music loud enough to mask the breath. The reformer deserves more attention than that. Align Studio 起於一個問題:為什麼大部分的器械皮拉提斯,感覺像是搬到機器上的健身團課?六個身體、一位老師、音樂大到蓋過呼吸。Reformer 值得更多的注意力。
We chose a different path: one student at a time, sixty minutes, no packages forced before a first conversation. We don't run our own studio space — instead, we partner with two well-loved yoga rooms in Changhua and Yunlin so our students can practice in light-filled, lived-in places, not a brand showroom. 於是我們選擇了另一條路:一次一位學員、六十分鐘、第一次對話之前不強推任何方案。我們不蓋自己的場館 — 而是與兩間我們真心喜歡的瑜伽教室合作(彰化田中與雲林斗六),讓學員在採光好、有生活感的空間裡練習,而非品牌樣板間。

Each instructor at Align Studio comes from a recognised lineage — Balanced Body, STOTT, or Body Concept — and has at least four years on the reformer. They teach differently. Eunice trained through Balanced Body's comprehensive program before completing STOTT's reformer track. Min teaches from the Body Concept lineage — a system that emphasizes how movement transfers to daily life and sport. She is direct, clear, and watches the body more than the clock.Min 來自 Body Concept 系統 — 強調動作如何轉移到日常生活與運動表現的訓練體系。她直接、清楚,看身體更甚於看時鐘。
Hope teaches with the unhurried tempo of someone who trusts the body to find its own answer. Her sessions tend to circle one or two themes — articulation of the spine, the rhythm of inhale and exhale — and revisit them at greater depth.Hope 的教學步調不急,相信身體會自己找到答案。她的課常圍繞一兩個主題 — 脊椎的節律、吸氣與吐氣的節奏 — 反覆深入。
Vanessa trained in STOTT's rehabilitation track and works often with postpartum students and pre-surgical / post-surgical bodies. She coordinates with physiotherapists when relevant. Her cues are quiet, her hands are quieter.Vanessa 受 STOTT 復健訓練,常協助產後學員與術前術後身體。必要時與物理治療師協作。她的口令安靜,手更安靜。

Both are Pilates. Both ask for breath, control, precision. But the first time you lie down on a reformer, something becomes obvious: this is a different conversation with gravity. On the mat you fight gravity itself. On the reformer, you fight springs — and the springs answer back.

A spring can be loaded heavier or lighter, and the choice changes the exercise entirely. A heavy spring on footwork makes the legs work; a light spring on the same exercise makes the core work, because now there is nothing to push against. We choose the load for the body in front of us — that's what private teaching means.
彈簧可以加重,也可以調輕,而這個選擇會徹底改變動作。Footwork 用重彈簧,腿會工作;同一個動作換成輕彈簧,核心會工作 — 因為沒什麼可以推。我們依眼前的身體選擇負荷 — 這就是私人課的意義。
Honest answer: often. The mat is the original. If your home practice is mat work, that is good practice. The reformer is not a replacement — it's a second instrument in the same orchestra.
